Clear, straightforward pricing for your care.
We believe the cost of your care should be clear from the beginning. Our comprehensive fee covers your midwifery care throughout pregnancy, birth, and the first six weeks postpartum. A few services provided by outside laboratories or requiring individually prescribed medications are billed separately.
Comprehensive Home Birth Care
$6,000
Your comprehensive care fee includes:
Prenatal Care
Regular prenatal visits throughout pregnancy
Physical assessment of mother and baby
Education and preparation throughout pregnancy
Time to discuss your questions and options
Individualized informed decision-making and consent
Labor, Birth & Immediate Postpartum
On-call availability for your birth
Midwifery care throughout active labor and birth
Birth assistant
Routine birth supplies and clinical equipment
Medications, herbs, and other supplies routinely provided by Maven Midwifery
Immediate postpartum care and assessment of mother and baby
Postpartum & Newborn Care
Postpartum care through six weeks
Physical assessment of mother and baby
Newborn metabolic screening
Breastfeeding education and support
Support for maternal recovery and adjustment during the postpartum period
Costs not included:
Some services and medications are not included in the comprehensive fee because their cost varies by client or they are provided by an outside provider. We'll discuss recommended testing, medications, and associated outside costs with you as they arise so that you can make informed decisions about your care.
Ultrasound & Imaging
Diagnostic ultrasounds are provided by an outside imaging provider. Typical costs are approximately $250–$500, depending on the imaging needed. These services may or may not be covered by your health insurance.
Routine prenatal laboratory testing typically costs around $250 in total, though costs vary based on the tests needed. Labs sent to Quest, Labcorp, or another outside laboratory are billed separately and may or may not be covered by your health insurance.

Certain Medications
When desired or medically indicated, the following are charged separately:
Vitamin K for the newborn
Erythromycin eye ointment for the newborn
Antibiotics during labor, when indicated
Additional Care & Support
Comprehensive home birth care is our primary service. When circumstances require a hospital birth, or when a family needs additional support outside our comprehensive care package, limited additional services may be available.
Prenatal Co-Care
$150 per visit
Prenatal co-care is available for women who require a hospital birth and receive their primary prenatal medical care from an OB/GYN or other maternity-care provider.
These visits provide individualized education and support surrounding pregnancy, labor, birth, postpartum recovery, and breastfeeding. They offer additional time to discuss your circumstances, questions, options, and preparation for birth.
Because your primary medical provider is responsible for clinical prenatal care, co-care visits do not include physical assessments of you or your baby.
Postpartum Care
$1,000
For women who give birth elsewhere but would like more personalized, hands-on support during postpartum recovery. Includes approximately 5–6 postpartum visits, with care tailored to the needs of you and your baby. Visits may include:
Maternal recovery assessment
Postpartum education and support
Breastfeeding and lactation support
Emotional support and adjustment to postpartum life
Newborn support and education within our scope of practice
Payment
We want payment for care to be straightforward and manageable. Payment plans are available and can generally be spread throughout pregnancy, with the full balance typically due by 37 weeks.
Families who choose to pay their balance in full earlier in pregnancy may be eligible for an early-payment discount.
We'll establish your individual payment schedule when you begin care, so you'll know from the beginning what to expect.
